About

Jimini AI is a French legal-tech platform that acts as an AI copilot for lawyers and in-house legal teams, helping with research, contract analysis, drafting, summarization, and translation.

Context

Jimini AI is a young French startup that has grown to a team of 18 employees. I worked as the sole designer, collaborating directly with the engineering team and operating without a dedicated product manager.

App Redesign

Making Legal AI accessible

Context

Although technically functional, the product still felt like a beta: heavily engineered, visually dense, and not intuitive for its target users. The legal tech market was already dominated by large international players with mature but complex interfaces, while legal professionals—late adopters of technology and AI—struggled with tools that felt intimidating rather than supportive.

Design Intent

User interviews revealed a clear pattern: ease, clarity, and reassurance mattered more than a “professional” or feature-heavy appearance. I deliberately chose to design a friendly, simplified interface, prioritizing approachability and confidence over technical sophistication.

Process

Working without a product manager, I collaborated closely with engineers and relied on continuous user feedback to guide decisions. I focused on stripping the interface down to its essentials, ensuring that every visible element served a clear purpose and contributed to a smoother workflow.

Solution

The entire design system was reworked to improve readability and usability, with clearer hierarchy, larger interactive elements, and custom icons to better communicate tools and features. Color was used intentionally to guide attention and make interactions more intuitive, while unnecessary visual clutter was removed to intensify focus on core actions.

Purposeful animations were introduced to bring the interface to life and improve flow and clarity throughout the experience. The goal was to strengthen the perceived quality of the product by making interactions feel smoother, more responsive, and more refined.

Outcome & Impact

The redesigned interface was released in August 2025 and quickly positioned Jimini as the most intuitive product in its category according to user interviews. Previously overlooked features saw their usage double, and the product gained renewed credibility with both investors and prospective clients.

Word Extension

A new interface to match the users' behaviors

Overview

As part of my work at Jimini, I designed a Microsoft Word add-in to integrate the product directly into lawyers’ existing workflows, with the objective of increasing adoption and ease of use. This was my first experience designing a Word add-in, making it both a technical and conceptual design challenge.

Context

Lawyers primarily work within Microsoft Word, making context switching a major barrier to product adoption. The add-in environment imposed strong technical constraints, most notably a very narrow interface that users rarely think to resize or expand.

Design Intent

Rather than fighting the constraint, I chose to fully embrace the narrow format as a defining characteristic of the interface. My intent was to make the add-in feel immediately familiar and comfortable by borrowing interaction patterns users already understand.

Process

The interface was designed around full-width content, large actionable buttons, and vertical scrolling, prioritizing clarity and ease of interaction within the limited space. Visual hierarchy and spacing were carefully adjusted to ensure features remained legible and discoverable without overwhelming the user.

Solution

I studied Microsoft’s technical limitations and observed how users naturally interact with constrained interfaces. This led me to take heavy inspiration from mobile application design, an ecosystem already optimized for narrow, vertical layouts.

Outcome & Impact

The result is a coherent and promising interface that integrates smoothly into lawyers’ daily workflows. While the add-in is still in an early stage and does not yet include all features, user feedback is being actively collected to guide its ongoing evolution.

Landing Page

A repositioning aimed for B2B growth

Context

I redesigned Jimini’s landing page to support a shift from early-stage fundraising to B2B growth. The previous version was intentionally minimal and reflected an early product, whereas the new page presents a more mature solution by clearly showcasing key features and use cases. Particular attention was given to framing proof of effectiveness in language that resonates with legal professionals, reinforcing credibility and supporting conversion.

New Features

From ideation to implementation

New features development

I contributed to the design and delivery of numerous features, from early concepts to fully released products. Key initiatives included:

Shortcuts

AI agents enabling multiple actions from a single trigger

Template Filler

A tool for generating large volumes of personalized documents from one template

Legal Search

An AI-powered feature providing sourced answers across legal references

Each feature followed a rigorous process encompassing ideation, sketching, wireframing, user interviews, competitor analysis, and iterative pre-releases and beta testing prior to launch.

Marketing Content

Social media, tutorials and advertising assets

Beyond UI design, I also contributed as a motion designer and social content designer. I produced all visual assets for social media, including photo and video posts, video tutorials, promotional content, event recaps, and other communication materials supporting the product’s growth and visibility.
